The Clear Cut Range
Multi‑Activation Circulation Sub (MACS)
Purpose and Applications
The MACS enables on-demand activation of circulation ports from the surface without the need to drop balls or darts. Ideal for maintenance works, it is a suitable alternative to buying a hole cleaning sub. It can also be used for lost circulation control, wellbore cleanout or horizontal drilling applications.
Key Features
Ports can be opened or closed by adjusting pump pressure, even in packed-off conditions
Internal shut-off mechanism protects tools below the sub during circulation operations
Multiple activations allowed during a run, meaning there is no need to break the drill string
Tool status visible at the surface via pressure indicators
5,000 psi working pressure rating and robust body materials
Hole Cleaning Sub (HCS)
Purpose and Applications
The HC sub agitates the fallen cuttings that accumulate on the low side of a bore in deviated or horizontal well sections. It is designed to improve hole cleaning efficiency and is particularly effective in wells with angles exceeding 40°, where cuttings beds can negatively impact drilling performance.
Key Features
Impeller/scoop design maximises agitation of settled cuttings
Reduces torque, drag, wiper trips and stuck pipe risk
Can be run in standard or heavyweight drill pipe formats
Racking back capability in derrick, enabling on-demand cleaning without pulling entire string
Hard‑faced construction and casing-friendly materials to reduce wear
Torque Reduction Sub (TRS)
Purpose and Applications
The TR sub is designed to alleviate parasitic torque and drag within the drill string. That makes it particularly useful in high-angle wells and extended-reach applications, where greater energy transfer to the bit can reduce casing wear.
Key Features
Reduces torque and drag under challenging well conditions
Prevents excessive wear on casing and tool joints
Can increase rate of penetration by improving energy efficiency
Fail‑safe sleeve retention system for reliability
Available various sizes (3½” to 6⅝”)
Bit Subs, Float Subs, and Left-Hand Subs
In addition to the MA, HC and TR models, CCI can also provide traditional units, such as:
Bit Subs: These connect a bit to the drill string with transition features like stabilisers or shoulders to smooth mechanical coupling.
Float Subs: Contain check valves to prevent backflow of fluids during pipe movement or circulation stoppages.
Left-Hand (LH) Subs: Rotate opposite to the drill string’s direction, used to unstick or back off stuck components.
These subs work in tandem with our advanced tooling, providing the foundational functionality required for effective bottom hole assembly.
